Mounting can increase the life of pneumatic cylinders when done properly. In order to protect cylinders from side loading, Bimba recommends a clevis bracket mount, which allows the rear of the cylinder to pivot, maintaining proper load to cylinder relationships. This will lead to longer cylinder life in your application.
