Application Engineer

We are looking for a world class Applications Engineer to join our team. The Applications Engineer provides application and design support to customers, outside sales force, and service center in the application of company products lines and the design of special modifications of those product lines to meet all company and customer requirements. Develop unique designs and special modifications of those product lines to meet all company and customer requirements. Also maintains existing standard products and develop/implement standard product enhancements.


The Applications Engineer responsibilities include:
 

Review for completeness incoming work assignments such as but not limited to order processing, quote processing, sample requests and engineering request. Perform basic component stress analysis to insure the structural integrity of all components and assemblies as is required by the application. Provide engineering support to outside sales force (including our distributor network) and customers. Analyze customer application requirements and the application of standard, modified, and special unique company products and designs. Suggest possible modifications to application specifications that may materially affect engineering problems, cost, or manufacturing lead time. Provide engineering service assistance on installation operation, repair, and other customer problems. Assist external customers on RGA’s involving failures due to misapplied product. Review application and recommend solutions. Participate in new product development to assure alignment with current application requirements. Approve work done by design drafters for suitability and accuracy. Prepare various production/presentation drawings and related documentation utilizing computer aided design equipment. This includes creating new designs using 3D modeling software (Solidworks). Prepare bill of materials for all finished goods and component parts. Provide mentoring to new/other Application Engineers (I & II) including the checking of work of new Application Engineers (new= first six months). Responsible for processing quote requests for unique “specials” products. Includes working with other departments to verify manufacturing capabilities and developing costs for special components/assemblies. Also requires customer collaboration to develop specifications based on application. Travel is required to support customer technical needs. (Approximately 10%)


Qualifications
 

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering. FPS certification (or achievement within the first year of employment). 7 years of related work experience in the Fluid Power industry or designing equipment that uses similar equipment. Effective communication skills (written, oral, and listening). Ability to manage communications with internal and external customers in a professional manner. Ability to apply principles of logical and scientific thinking to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions/recommendations. Can interpret an extensive variety of complex technical instructions in mathematical or illustrative form and work with information that is both abstract and variable. Machinist

We are looking for a world class Machinist to join our team. The opportunity is on 2nd or 3rd shift. The Machinist works from work orders, blueprints, charts, listings and verbal instructions, setups and operates computer numeric controlled (CNC) work centers to machine a wide variety of standard and special component parts of average to above average complexity which are utilized in the manufacturing of pneumatic cylinders.


Duties:
 

*Work at primary CNC machining center and rotates between other CNC and conventional work centers on a regular basis to meet production scheduling requirements. *Install and adjust various types of tooling and fixtures in the work centers. *Insert computer programs and set machine feeds and speeds. *Cut and/or position raw materials into machine center jaws and fixtures. *Progress first piece through the initial run, analyzing and making critical adjustments to tooling, and modifying computer programs and operating parameters of work centers. *Perform progressive turning, drilling, milling and tapping operations, which are above average in complexity to produce stated quantities of component parts. *Monitor ongoing operations through machine cycles, and load and unload work centers as necessary on a concurrent basis. *Inspect parts for stated dimensions and surface imperfections. *Troubleshoot and resolve problems involving tooling, materials, programs, equipment and part specifications. Identify and recommend changes to part specifications to improve machine ability. *Modify cutting tools as necessary. Prepare the required paperwork and place completed work in a designated location. *Perform preventative maintenance as required. *Select tooling as necessary for new jobs or sample runs. *Modify and document program changes as requires. *Assist and train lower level machinists, answering work questions, resolving operating difficulties, and reviewing completed work assignments. Will be required to successfully complete 30/60/90 Day Evaluation / Orientation Program.

We are looking for a world class Manufacturing Manager to join our team.  This position is responsible for day-to-day operations of the assembly, shipping, packaging, and related functions for final product manufacturing. Position reports directly to the Director of Operations, leading the team of front line supervisors ultimately responsible for the work of well over 100 team members.  Will lead and direct the supervisor group in day-to-day problem identification and resolution.  Responsible for continuous improvement of operations, employing Lean concepts to assure optimal productivity and development of staff.  As a member of the management team, will work on the development and execution of the production strategic plan and budget.  Function as part of the general management team, working closely to coordinate a variety of efforts related to quality and component manufacturing.  Development of talent is critical, through fostering an environment where employees are valued, treated with dignity and where participation in problem solving includes all levels of employees.  Report generation and analysis of data from our Oracle ERP system is an important function of this position. 


Requires a bachelor degree and at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years of experience in leading and developing a team. Must be able to demonstration cross-functional knowledge, related to quality, Lean concepts, project and change management, preferably in a custom metal fabrication/machining/assembly environment. Microsoft Office and ERP system experience and/or strong comfort level in using technology to analyze and improve processes/cost management also required. Calculate and write programs for CNC work centers, to fabricate component parts to stated engineering specifications. Works independently to troubleshoot and resolve problems concerning machining operations, tools, materials and CNC programs. Perform secondary machining operations on component parts as required. Perform detailed analysis of the component parts configuration/dimensions to determine the most efficient machining operations required for production. Determine work center to be utilized and operating sequences in order to machine component parts, which are of above average to complex configurations. Insert computer programs into CNC work centers, set and adjust machine speeds and feeds, modify programs and document changes as required. Install and adjust tooling into all work centers. Process first piece through initial run, analyzing and making critical adjustments to tooling, programs and process parameters of work center. Operate and monitor work centers to perform progressive turning, boring, drilling, tapping and reaming operations, which are above average complexity to produce stated quantities of component parts for production runs. Monitor ongoing operation through machine cycle, load and unload work centers as necessary. Pull the required tooling and raw materials for the machining of modified component parts. Fabricate simple holding fixtures as required for machining operations. Inspect parts for stated dimensions and surface imperfections for production runs. Modify cutting tools as necessary. Prepare the required paperwork and place completed work in a designated location. Works with engineering and supervisory personnel to troubleshoot and resolve design, equipment and operating difficulties. Perform preventative maintenance duties as scheduled by maintenance department. Assist training of lower level machinists, answering work questions, resolving operating difficulties and reviewing completed work assignments.
