Product Marketing Manager – NFPA Pneumatic & Hydraulic

Responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic plan for a product portfolio related to NFPA Pneumatic and Hydraulic Cylinders. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining the product requirements, execution of roadmaps and growth strategies. Interaction and coordination with the local team in Rockford, IL is critical along with the different product groups across the entire Bimba and IMI enterprise.

This job will combine a strong understanding of the pneumatic, hydraulic, and fluid power market along with a good business acumen in a leadership position to grow the NFPA Cylinder business.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Planning

  • Discover and validate market problems (both existing and future customers) by conducting market analysis (VOC)
  • Define and size market segments
  • Provide oversight of strategy, technical, and marketing aspects of all products in the portfolio
  • Analyze product profitability and sales success
  • Create and maintain the business plan including pricing
  • Analyze and be an expert on our competition
  • Maintain the product portfolio roadmap
  • Write product requirements and use scenarios
  • Conduct win/loss analysis
  • Establish short and long term forecasts
  • Research, understand and incorporate industry innovations into product requirements
  • Deliver product requirements with prioritized features and justification including ROI

Product

  • Execute the product roadmaps
  • Measure results and maintain a dashboard for responsible products that includes market share, sales, trends, profitability, commercial programs and service levels
  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products in the market
  • Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and help develop the sales tools that support the selling process of your products
  • Perform sales and channel training on responsible products
  • Develop and lead margin improvement projects for the portfolio

Promotion

  • Working with the marketing team, plan and execute the launch of new products and releases
  • Participate in and help coordinate trade shows
  • Develop 3rd party testimonials including application and customer success stories
  • Champion products across the Bimba enterprise and represent Bimba externally in the market to customers, trade organizations, speaking opportunities and industry consultants
  • Develop campaigns to promote the products to both our distributor partners and the market place

We Require

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Engineering
  • MBA is not required but a plus
  • 5+ years of product marketing, engineering and/or technical sales or equivalent experience
  • Experience in the Fluid Power industry desired
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in B to B marketing and customer interaction
  • Analytical and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
