CNC OPERATOR

Summary:
Working from work orders, blueprints, charts, listings and verbal instructions, setups and operates computer numeric controlled (CNC) work centers to machine a wide variety of standard and special component parts which are utilized in the product lines of pneumatic cylinders.

Duties:

  • Work at primary CNC machining center on a regular basis, and cross train (completed training guide) as required to rotate between other CNC work centers on a regular basis to meet production scheduling requirements.
  • Install and adjust various types of tooling and fixtures in the work centers.
  • Insert computer programs and set machine feeds and speeds.
  • Cut and/or position raw materials into machine center jaws and fixtures.
  • Progress first piece through the initial run, analyzing and making critical adjustments to tooling, and modifying computer programs and operating parameters of work centers.
  • Single block program in dry run before running in automatic.
  • Perform progressive turning, drilling, milling and tapping operations, which are above average in complexity to produce stated quantities of component parts.
  • Monitor ongoing operations through machine cycles, and load and unload work centers as necessary on a concurrent basis.
  • Inspect parts for stated dimensions and surface imperfections.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems involving tooling, materials, programs, equipment and part specifications. Identify and recommend changes to part specifications to improve machine ability.
  • Grind cutting tools as necessary.
  • Prepare the required paperwork and place completed work in a designated location.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required.
  • Select tooling as necessary for new jobs or sample runs.
  • Modify and document program changes as requires.
  • Perform SPC charting procedures as prescribed.
  • Perform secondary machining operations as required, i.e. drilling, tapping, c’sink, deburring and milling.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years CNC machining experience.
  • Previous programming/editing and set-up experience.
  • Proficient in the use the cutting tools and measuring instruments.



Application Engineer II

Summary:
Provide application and design support to customers, outside sales force, and sales engineering department in the application of company product lines.  Develop unique designs and special modifications of those product lines to meet all company and customer requirements.  Also maintain existing standard products and develop/implement standard product enhancements.

Duties:

  • Review for completeness incoming work assignments such as but not limited to order processing, quote processing, sample requests and engineering requests.
  • Perform basic component stress analysis to insure the structural integrity of all components and assemblies as is required by the application.
  • Provide engineering support to outside sales force (including our distributor network) and customers.
  • Analyze customer application requirements and the application of standard, modified, and special unique company products and designs.
  • Responsible for lead development and recording using customer database software (CRM).
  • Suggest possible modifications to application specifications that may materially affect engineering problems, cost, or manufacturing lead time.
  • Provide engineering service assistance on installation, operation, repair, and other customer problems.
  • Assist external customers on RGA's involving failures due to misapplied product.  Review applications and recommend solutions.
  • Approve work done by design drafters for suitability and accuracy.
  • Prepare various production/presentation drawings and related documentation utilizing computer aided design equipment.  This includes creating new designs using 3D modeling software (Solidworks).
  • Prepare bill of materials for all finished goods and component parts.
  • Provide mentoring to new/other Application Engineers (I & II) including the checking of work of new Application Engineers (new = first six months).
  • Responsible for processing quote requests for unique "specials" products.  Includes working with other departments to verify manufacturing capabilities and developing costs for special components/assemblies.  Also requires customer collaboration to develop specifications based on application.
  • Travel is required to support customer technical needs (Approximately 10%).

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD.
  • FPS Certification (within the first year of employment).
  • 7 years of related work experience in the Fluid Power industry or designing equipment that uses pneumatic cylinders.
  • Understanding of the risks associated with changes to standard product: including changes driven from cost reductions, design improvements, etc.
  • Effective communication skills (written, oral and listening).  Ability to manage communicaions with internal and external customers in a professional manner.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical and scientific thinking to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions/recommendations.  Can interpret an extensive variety of complex technical instructions in mathematical or illustrative form and work with information that is both abstract and variable.

Preferences:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Masters Degree in Engineering or Business.



Purchasing Manager

Summary:
Plan, coordinate, and administer the industrial procurement activities of the corporation. Manage and lead in a manner consistent with the overall strategic goals of Bimba Manufacturing Company.

Duties:

  • Recommends and sets strategic direction, develops and maintains the company's strategy for the purchase of materials and supplies.
  • Manages supplier relationships and service level agreements.
  • Coordinates and interacts with other departments and locations to develop and maintain accurate forecasting.
  • Provides periodic reports on performance vs. plan.
  • Manages buyers and the procurement process while providing coaching to develop and improve skill sets of the team.
  • Develop and maintain records, supporting documentation and files regarding supplier activities, profiles, and performance.
  • Establishes supplier metrics.
  • Provides information regarding economic conditions in the market as they impact supply and cost.
  • Manage and resolve product supply isssues within the supply chain.
  • Identifies, develops and supports cost saving measures.
  • Leads project teams to support initiatives. 
  • Monitor and control inventory levels and turnover.  Maintain appropriate levels based on production forecasts and production schedule.
  • Assure the operational continuation of supply.
  • Monitor and control material costs.  Negotiate cost reductions and implement other cost control measures.
  • Manage pricing, contractual negotiations, and fulfillment of contracts for raw material, components and services.
  • Assure that supplier relationships and all company business are conducted in a fair and ethical manner.
  • Research and develop alternate vendor sources based on price, quality, and service.
  • Coordinate the disposition of defective or rejected materials.

Requirements:

  • 4 year college degree in business, or equivalent field.
  • 5 years of experience in a Purchasing Management position in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of commodity management, purchasing practices, and contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability in various communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability and understanding in supply chain management, continuous improvement, project management, training and development.

Preferences:

  • 7 plus years purchasing management experience.
  • Masters Degree in business or equivalent field.
  • Professional Certifications:  CPP (Certified Professional Purchaser), CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager), CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management)
  • Ability to effectively use computer/information systems. (Microsoft Office products/Previous ERP experience)
  • Experience in an ISO 9000:2008 environment.
  • Background in lean tools and/or other continuous improvement techniques.
  • Ability to analyze and identify problems, root causes.
  • High level of interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • High level of attention to detail, well organized, meets deadlines.
  • Successful experience in global sourcing.
  • Ability to travel domestically and overseas for up to a week per visit, if needed.



Manufacturing Manager

Manufacturing Manager at Bimba Manufacturing Co.  Position located in Monee, IL.   Manage administrative responsibilities for department; Coordinate projects and direct technical activities; Ensure metal fabrication/machining production meets engineering requirements of customers.  Must have BS (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Eng). & 5 yrs. exp.  Must have exp. w/ modern CNC machining processes, lean manufacturing and/or other continuous improvement techniques, and manufacturing concepts off quality, participatory management, continuous improvement, project management, training & development. Staff Accountant

We are looking for a staff accountant who understands accounting theory and practice and who can apply these principles to work that is analytical, evaluative and advisory in nature. Provide accurate and thorough analysis for management and reporting, budget planning, variance analysis and other manufacturing specific accounting areas. Must be able to project financial data for budgetary purposes, and show the effects of changes in proposed budgetary plans such as revenue, income, capital investment, cash position and overall financial condition. Capable of ensuring the adequacy of the accounting system as the basis for reporting to management, and consider the need for new or changed controls in response to internal needs or the certified audit. Work with financial auditors to provide required audit data at year-end.

Requires a BS in Accounting for an AACSB accredited program, and a minimum of 3 years of private or public accounting experience in the manufacturing area. Internship experience may be considered where applicable. Proficiency in standard MS Office applications required. Accounting experience should include working with financial audits in a public or private setting (CPA preferred, but not required), ERP system (Oracle) experience preferred. Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO Medical Plan.  Medical plan is offered at low cost to all eligible employee-owners.  We offer a wide network of providers, at approximately 80% coverage of expenses, with 100% paid after meeting plan out-of-pocket maximums.  Our health insurance benefit also includes a prescription drug plan.

Dental Insurance
Choice of two dental options are offered:
Network Plan Option – Employee chooses a general dentist from a list of participating dentist.
Out of Network Plan Option – Covered services can be obtained from any licensed dentist.

Sick or Personal Days
Prorated after one year based on hire date.  In subsequent years, 40 hours per year.

Holidays
Nine paid holidays annually.

Family Medical Leave       
Employee-owners are eligible for up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave in the event of a personal or family medical emergency.

Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
These plans replace 60% of the employee’s income if unable to work due to disability, within plan limits.

Basic Life Insurance
Employees are offered life insurance, in amounts from $25,000 to $50,000, depending on salary.  This benefit is paid for by the company.  Employees have the option to purchase additional insurance.

Tuition Reimbursement Program
Reimburse for tuition and books for approved courses after receiving a C or better (or pass in case of pass/fail):  reimbursement is 95% when grade is A, 85% when grade is B, 75% when grade is C or pass (for pass/fail).

Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
Participants receive annual contributions of Bimba stock ranging from 10-25% of annual earnings.
