Bimba is happy to announce the launch of its new and improved Solutions Shop library. This online archive of custom and semi custom solutions is designed to showcase real products specially designed for real customer problems.
In addition to searching by 'Industry Type', you can now expand your search into 'Design Features' and 'Product Type'. Design Features enables users to view solutions based on attributes such as Miniaturization, Precision, and Alternative Materials. Product Type organizes solutions into different categories including: Valves and Pumps, Hand Tools, and Rate Controls. All three categories enable new and experienced users to easily find solutions that will inspire new ideas for your applications.
The new Solutions Shop is easy to access. Simply click on 'Solutions Shop' in the main navigation bar on bimba.com and a new drop down menu will appear, enabling you to navigate your way to any of the categories listed above. Or, by clicking on the central blue color box entitled Solutions Shop, users will see the newest entries to the Solutions Shop Library. In this 'New Solutions' category, you will see that we recently added a dozen new successful solutions, a sampling of which are listed below:
A trailer axel sub assembly requiring seven different heights, needed a robust, yet simple and cost effective semi-automatic system to replace a manual screw jack. The design also needed to be telescopic in nature to provide a total travel distance that was longer than the total overall length the cylinder could be.
Bimba engineered a telescoping, multiple positioning system that was operated by one directional control valve. A set of NFPA tie rod cylinders made by TRD allowed the system to drop below the conveyor, so that each assembly may pass. The Bimba team also included Original Line cylinders along with a set of stroke limiter spacers and stop blocks to provide semi automatic variable positioning. This was a cost effective solution versus PLC and electronically controlled positioning and provided improved yield and enhanced safety. Learn More →
A company that harnesses solar energy from tropical oceans to generate electricity, produce desalinated water, and grow food needed a single rack actuator to control the angle of their turbine vanes.
Bimba developed an 8" Bore Rotary Actuator, rated at 10,000 in/lbs of torque at 80 PSI. The custom design included a special hollow shaft and end cap enclosed in a protective case to withstand the corrosive ocean environment. In addition, Bimba engineers added encoders to the unit to ensure safety and ease of use. Learn More →
A manufacturer was using over 72 cylinders on a machine that assembles PVC strips for the use of cooling towers at nuclear plants. The customer wanted to reduce cost without changing the envelope dimensions of their existing design.
Bimba's Applications Engineering team worked closely with the customer to completely understand their needs, designing six Flat Square cylinders into a single product, using an elongated rode guide and rear head design. This solution provided significant cost savings by reducing plumbing and requiring 12 cylinders per machine instead of 72. Learn More →
